We celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2023—and around that time realized it was a new life phase. As empty-nesters, we decided to look for something we could do together, so we took a pottery class at a near-by college. And we loved it! In 2025, Jay retired and we moved back to the south Georgia area. A little block building on our property became our dedicated pottery studio.

Jay throws on the wheel and enjoys trying different clays. He prefers working on larger pieces and trying new techniques. I (Cathy) hand build mostly with clay slabs. And we both work on glazing, which is a fascinating world in itself! We use some of our small pots for hand-poured, custom-scented candles.
