Jay and Cathy celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2023—and around that time realized it was a new life phase. As empty-nesters, they decided to look for something they could do together, so they took a pottery class at a near-by college. And they loved it! In 2025, Jay retired and they moved back to the south Georgia area. A little block building on their property became their dedicated pottery studio.

Jay throws on the wheel and enjoys trying different clays. He prefers working on larger pieces and trying new techniques. Cathy hand builds mostly with clay slabs. Her main focus is small pots that she uses for hand-poured, custom-scented candles.
